9月5日下午，437必赢会员中心在文科楼222举办了翻译专业硕士研究生开学典礼。437必赢会员中心党政领导、导师及任课教师代表出席了本次典礼活动，2018级全体翻译硕士专业研究生参加。开学典礼由2018级研究生班主任李大雷主持。

会议伊始，郑众院长代表437必赢会员中心对2018级全体研究生新生的到来表示热烈欢迎，并在致辞中提到，437必赢会员中心研究生代表高水平、高端性翻译，并提出不同阶段的学习目标。首先，成为涉猎广泛，知识面广的“通才”，在此基础上，成为专业能力强，目标性准确的“专才”，最后，在不断翻译学习的过程中养成独立思维并拥有独立判断，成为独当一面的“智才”。随后，杨辉教授和初良龙教授分别就学院、专业的发展概况、导师情况及翻译硕士专业学位研究生的培养方案等相关政策做了详细介绍，杨辉教授强调研究生新生主攻方向在于新兴的科技英语，研究生应当着力培养英汉双语能力；初良龙教授提出翻译专业学位研究生应有明确的自身规划，要明确“学什么，怎么学”。并强调只有对自身拥有精准定位，才能成为高层次、应用型、专业性的高素质人才。

教师代表李书仓副教授发言中强调研究生学习应灵活运用不同学习方法，将中国的“rote learning”与西方的“meaningful learning”相结合，实践与思考并重。学院党总支书记陈国兴教授作了会议总结，他鼓励研究生新生们要践行“明德励志 崇实尚能”的校训，在学习过程中做到，将翻译理论与实践相结合，科技领域与翻译相结合，不断实践累计经验，成为“中外汇通 德才兼备”的专业型人才。

最后，在师生问答交流环节，研究生们就当前在学习以及今后发展面临的各类问题积极提问，与会老师们耐心细致地做了解答。

School of Foreign Languages Held the Opening Ceremony of 2018 MTI New Arrivals

         On the afternoon of September 5th, School of Foreign Languages held the opening ceremony for MTI students in Room 222, Building of Liberal Arts. The leaders, tutors and teachers of School of Foreign Languages and all the MTI students of 2018 attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Li Dalei, class teacher ofMTI students.

        At the beginning of the ceremony, dean Zheng Zhong, on behalf of School of Foreign Languages, warmly welcomed all 2018 MTInew arrivals. In his speech, he mentioned that the postgraduate students of Schoolof Foreign Languages represent high-level and high-end translators and proposed learning objectives at different stages for them. First of all, the studentsshould become generalists with a wide range of knowledge. On this basis, theycan become specialists with strong professional ability and clear objectives. Finally, in the process of continuous translation and learning, the students should become talents with independent minds and judgments. Then, professor Yang and professor Chu gave a detailed introduction on the development of School of Foreign Languages, tutors and the training programs for postgraduate students. Professor Yang emphasized that the main direction of postgraduate students is science and technology English. The postgraduate students should focus on cultivating bilingual ability. Professor Chu proposed that MTI students should make a clear plan, and be aware of what to learn and how to learn. He also stressed that only by knowingtheaccurate position of themselves, can thestudents become high-level, applied, and professional talents.

Finally, in the Q&A exchange between teachers and students, the postgraduate students actively asked questions about various problems in current study and future development, and the teachers also gave them patient and meticulous answers.

In the speech of associate professor Li, he emphasized that the postgraduate students should use different learning methods flexibly, combine Chinese “rote learning” with Western “meaningful learning”, and pay equal attention to practice and thinking. Professor Chen, secretary of party branch of School of Foreign Languages, summed up the ceremony. He encouraged the postgraduate students to keep the motto of “Moralitytobelearned; Willingtobetrained;Simplicitytobeuploaded; Capabilitytobepersued” in mind and to follow it in the process of learning. He also stressed the combination of translation theory with practice, and technology with translation. He said the students shoud become a professional talent both in Chinese and English, ability and morality through continuous practice.
