为加强我院学风建设，提高学生英语学习兴趣，夯实词汇基础，4月18日晚，我院于食工楼B409举办十三届外语文化艺术节之英语词汇大赛。大赛吸引了全院近180名学生参加。

本次大赛赛采取笔试的形式，参赛选手需在2小时内完成试题，试题形式多样，难易程度适中，既有基础词汇的简单拼写；又有考察词汇运用能力的单词辨音；还有检验词组及句型运用的连词成句。既考查了学生基础词汇的掌握，又考查了学生灵活准确运用词汇的综合能力。比赛过程中，同学们精神高度集中，积极思考，认真答题，使得比赛有条不紊地展开并顺利结束。

第十三届外语文化艺术节系列活动形式多元，学生参与多元，作为系列活动之一的英语词汇大赛极大调动了全院学生记单词和学英语的热情，普及正确的词汇学习理念，传播科学的词汇学习方法，进一步提高英语应用能力。

The school of foreign languages held the English vocabulary contest of the 13th foreign language culture and arts festival

On the evening of April 18, the English vocabulary contest of 13th foreign language culture and arts festival was held in B409 of the food and engineering building in order to strengthen our school's study atmosphere, enhancing students' interest in English learning and consolidating their vocabulary foundation. Nearly 180 students from our school of foreign languages tool part in the contest.

The contest took the form of a written test where contestants were required to complete the test within 2 hours, and there were a variety of forms and moderately difficult questions, including simple spellings of basic vocabularies, the ability to test sound discrimination of words and make a sentence with given phrases and sentence patterns. It not only tested the students' mastery of basic vocabulary, but also examined their comprehensive ability to use vocabulary flexibly and accurately. During the contest, the students were highly concentrated, actively thinking and answering questions carefully, which made the contest unfold orderly and end smoothly.

There were diverse forms and diversified students’ participation in the series of activities of this festival. The English vocabulary competition, as one of the series of activities, had greatly aroused the enthusiasm of students from our school of foreign languages in memorizing words and learning English, popularizing correct vocabulary learning concepts and disseminating scientific vocabulary learning methods to further improve English application ability.
